After one year of practicing Dr. Fishman’s 12 poses my scan showed improvement! Osteoporosis downgraded to osteopenia!!! After 2 years even BETTER! In addition to improved bone health, I developed more strength, improved posture and balance. After the first 7 months of practicing the poses I started taking a bone supplement and significantly changed my diet by incorporating more plant based food. What a trifecta to give amazing results!

Want to get started? There are several ways to do so.

Virtual or In-Studio Yoga for Bone Health (5-week series)

Yoga for Bone Health is a targeted practice developed by Loren Fishman, MD. It is designed to maintain a healthy skeleton, strengthen posture, and improve balance. Offered through Zoom and In-Studio. Taught by Nancy Sessoms. Class size is limited to provide participants meaningful feedback. In this series you will be guided through all three variations of eleven poses and discover which stage is safe but effective for you at this time. The twelfth pose is savasana. The poses can be adapted for all levels of physical ability. 5 sessions (90 mins each).

Private Sessions

Another option is to schedule private sessions with Nancy (virtual or in-studio).

Virtual or In-Studio Maintenance Sessions

If you have already been trained in Dr. Fishman's method and would like to continue the momentum towards reversing osteoporotic bone loss, then our Bone Renewal series is for you. You will focus on improving alignment, depth of your poses, and hold time. Poses from Dr. Fishman's second series of poses may be taught as well.

Offered through Zoom and In-Studio Taught by Nancy Sessoms. Class size is limited so that you will receive meaningful feedback and there will be time for questions and answers.

Provided there is sufficient participation, bi-monthly classes are planned. If you are participating in Dr. Fishman's current study, your participation in these sessions meets the requirement to work with a certified teacher twice a month.
